Our man Chris from Tilted Media dropped in on Players Classic last year;
The show for enthusiasts! With new shows popping up every year there is always the pressure to change or get left behind. This is just one thing that sets Players and Players Classic apart from the rest. Spurred on by the heritage of Woethersee, for Jay and Carl the creation of a show for enthusiasts by enthusiasts was a natural step. The trends, the cars and the people may have changed but the event has stayed true to its roots.
Now into their 10th year, Players11 still reaches back to that vision. Their August show has grown from strength to strength every year; from its origin of one hangar, to a sprawling mass of high quality metal at North Weald Airfield and this year was no exception.
Players takes everything you ever wanted as a kid and mixes it all together in a big pot of motory goodness. This Model A hot rod for example, is just as at home at players as a brand new Golf GTI.
Having a long running partnership with Airlift Performance, there’s always plenty of slammed cars to feast your eyes on. This E30 is certainly a winner in my eyes, the BBS tucked perfectly under the arches. It really harks back to motoring in the 80s, with it’s MTec-esq bidykit, but has one foot firmly planted in the here and now with its slammed stance and fitment.
In my eyes there isn’t much better than an Rx-7 but Jordan Warren has taken his to another level. Its got air suspension, its got work wheels, its got rocket bunny and that’s only scratching the surface, I love it.
Here ends my brief review of Players11. It truly is the show for enthusiasts no matter your persuasion, there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is always electric, and with its sister show, Players Classic, they make up 2 of my must attend events.
Keep scrolling for some more of the motoring goodness from this year!
